Thyroid, Hormone and Metabolic Imbalances

Thyroid, hormones and metabolic imbalances can lead to symptoms like fatigue, weight changes, depression, leaky gut, sleep disturbances, and much more. To complicate the situation, these symptoms can often be mistaken for other causes with treatments being aimed at symptom management instead of getting to the root issue.  Our providers work with you to promote healing at the cellular level. This approach requires a commitment from you to remove habits and other factors that impede your body’s ability to function at its best. We have found success using a combination of supplements, lifestyle changes and medications (when appropriate).

Thyroid Disorders

Imbalances in thyroid levels can have symptoms that impact a patient’s daily lives: fatigue, anxiety, heart palpitations, depression, digestion issues, and weight changes. Thyroid Disorders are often easily treated with prescription medications; however, the process of reaching an ideal dose can be frustrating and overwhelming.

Biote Hormone Pellets

Pellet therapy has helped thousands of people feel their best and achieve hormonal balance. The Biote Method uses bioidentical hormone pellets which contain bioidentical testosterone or estrogen. The pellets are placed subcutaneously in the body and release a continuous stream of bioidentical hormones. Hormone replacement pellets dissolve and are absorbed into the body.

Feel and look your best with the Biote Method. Using the subcutaneous pellet approach to bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, some patients report feeling symptom relief in as little as several hours or up to four weeks, but full hormone optimization may take up to six months. May report feeling the most benefits after the second insertion. Each dose of pellet therapy is customized to the patient’s needs after hormone therapy bloodwork performed at a lab. The BHRT pellets that we use are made to replicate the hormones men and women lose as they age.

Topical Hormone Therapy

An alternative to pellet therapy is topical therapy. Prescription creams are made by a local compounding pharmacy, specific to each patient, based on the results of an extensive saliva hormone panel. The cream is then applied to your skin once a day.

Saliva testing is an accurate and convenient option for testing hormone levels. Saliva tests offer many benefits, including the fact that they are non-invasive (no needles!).

The hormones present in the saliva are the free hormones that are actively affecting the hormone-sensitive tissues throughout your body. So, salivary hormone levels are a true direct measurement of free hormone levels. In contrast, blood hormone levels are either total hormone levels or a calculation based on the total hormone level.

Blood tests are required for our bioidentical hormone pellet therapy because this type of lab test reflects the total amount of hormones in the blood. This contrasts with salivary hormone tests that we also offer – specifically for patients who choose the route of topical hormone therapy.
