For many Americans, healthcare has always been tied to insurance.
You or your employer purchase a health insurance plan, and that plan determines where you can go for care, which medications are covered, which tests are approved, and often how much you’ll pay out of pocket. While insurance can be invaluable for major illnesses, hospitalizations, and unexpected medical events, many people are surprised to learn that it isn’t the only way to access primary care.
At LEAP Integrated Primary Care, we offer a cash-based model of care because we believe healthcare works best when the focus is on the relationship between patient and provider—not on administrative requirements and insurance restrictions.
Why We Chose a Different Approach
Throughout our careers, we watched a challenging reality unfold across healthcare.
Providers were expected to see more and more patients in less and less time. Appointment schedules became packed. Meaningful conversations were shortened. Treatment recommendations sometimes faced delays or denials based on insurance requirements rather than clinical judgment.
As healthcare professionals, we felt frustrated. More importantly, we knew our patients deserved better.
We wanted the freedom to spend time listening, educating, and partnering with patients to create personalized plans for lasting wellness.
That vision became LEAP Integrated Health – which we have renamed to LEAP Integrated Primary Care in an effort to make our services more clear.
Our name reflects our mission:
Listen. Educate. Advocate. Personalize.
By removing many of the barriers created by third-party billing, we’re able to focus our energy where it belongs—on helping you achieve your health goals.
What Does Cash-Based Care Actually Mean?
Simply put, cash-based care means that you pay directly for healthcare services rather than having the visit billed through your insurance company.
It’s similar to how most other professional services operate.
You’ll know the cost of your care upfront, without surprise bills arriving months later.
Transparency is one of the biggest advantages of the model.
What Do You Get at LEAP?
Unrushed Appointments
Your health story deserves more than a few rushed minutes.
At LEAP, appointments are intentionally scheduled to allow meaningful conversation, thorough evaluation, and thoughtful treatment planning.
Access to Multiple Areas of Expertise
When you become a patient at LEAP, you gain access to the collective expertise of our team.
Rachel and Brooke each bring unique strengths, advanced training, and areas of special interest. While there is overlap in many areas, each provider offers specialized knowledge that can be leveraged when needed.
Rather than working in isolation, we collaborate to provide comprehensive, individualized care.
Pharmacist Consultation and Guidance
Alison’s years of experience as a pharmacist bring tremendous value to our patients.
She provides guidance on medications, compounded therapies, supplements, drug interactions, and emerging treatment options. Her expertise helps ensure that recommendations are grounded in evidence, safety, and clinical effectiveness.
Access to High-Quality Supplements
We offer professional-grade supplements that undergo rigorous quality testing and are sourced from trusted manufacturers.
These products are carefully selected based on research, efficacy, and safety standards.
Functional and Specialty Testing
Many patients come to us looking for answers when traditional testing hasn’t provided the full picture.
We offer access to specialized functional and integrative testing that can provide additional insights into hormone health, metabolism, gut health, nutritional status, and other areas of wellness.
A Different Healthcare Experience
We intentionally designed LEAP to feel welcoming and comfortable.
Our goal is to create an environment that feels more like a conversation than a clinical transaction.
Flexible Ways to Receive Care
We understand that every patient has different needs.
That’s why we offer:
- Fee-for-service visits
- Direct-access membership options
- In-person appointments
- Virtual appointments
Can You Still Use Insurance?
Yes.
While LEAP Integrated Primary Care does not bill insurance companies directly, many patients are still able to utilize their insurance benefits for care received at our practice.
Upon request, we can provide a superbill that contains the information needed for you to submit a claim to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts vary by plan, and we encourage patients to contact their insurance carrier directly to understand their specific out-of-network benefits.
We also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds for eligible services, allowing many patients to use pre-tax dollars toward their healthcare expenses.
For larger treatment plans or packages, financing options may also be available.
Our goal is to make personalized, high-quality healthcare as accessible and transparent as possible while giving you greater control over how your healthcare dollars are spent.
